Astroturf in the Papers!

Just caught this very good Appleton Post Crescent editorial.

Remember this blog by Lucas sometime ago?

"The La Crosse Tribune got duped big time. This last Sunday they printed a letter to the editor that was practically lifted word for word from the talking points of Moveon.org."

Here is what the Post Crescent says about such letters:

"To the seven people who sent us the same letter about a poll about Senate filibusters and the six people who sent us the same letter about the Google search engine, we're sorry but your letters won't be appearing in The Post-Crescent.

We don't publish submissions from readers that are, in effect, form letters from special-interest groups. We call them "astroturf," as in fake grass roots."

Good for the Post Crescent!
