A lost blogger Weekend
Or how I learned to stop hating Blogger. It appears the first massive blogger outage of 2006 is over and I don't believe there were any deaths. I will tell you this though I might hold off updateding my blog roll for a week or so to see where everyone lands. I think you will be seeing a number of blogs moving to Wordpress. A couple of blogs have already set up wordpress blogs to see what there like, myself included.
But here is my problem I actually like blogger, its pretty easy, I know what I am doing. It allows you to mess with the template and do pictures very easily. In short its what I know. Ease of posting pictures is key to me as you all know this thing can turn into a photo blog at times lol. I wish blogger had some features like categories and being able to put most of a long post "beneath the fold" But to be honest I cant see myself moving until I find a place where I get everything I get a blogger and then some.
One of the things I did while on my "break" was look at a lot of blogs and what service they used. I was trying to find one to be SH2's new home. But in the end I took the path of least resistance once again blogger is what I know lol.
Thats not to say I wont change if I can find the right service I don't even care about having to pay for one. I have used powerblogs on the Yankee Hater group blog I am apart of. Its ok but I don't think its that much better than blogger its actually a little weak on looks.
Blogger has made great strides in the last year since I first started using it and I am sure they will keep getting better. I almost wish they would "gasp" make it a pay site say $5 a month and use that money to upgrade and keep improving. I know that's not how Google operates but it would be a thought. Or at least give people the option of upgrading to a pay account that had more bells and whistles like blogroll and haloscan do.
But until I can find that Uberblog program I think I am going to dance with the one that brought me.
Thats me and I don't like change all that much but I don't blame people for leaving blogger last night was pretty maddening everyone has to do whats best for them.
I am just glad the damn thing is working again
Regards,
Chris
