EndtheCap.org

A few weblogs are sporting the green ribbon in support of Gov. Doyle ending the cap on Milwaukee's school choice program. Usually graphics like this are hyperlinked to a webpage. Unless you know what's going on you have no idea what the green ribbon signifies. Brian Fraley informs us a "citywide ground campaign will begin on February 4 to urge Governor Doyle to end the cap on school choice." An online component might be in order. EndtheCap.org is available. It wouldn't take much to get a site set up. By using plain templates it could come alive in 24 hours. All you need is a little cash for a host that allows WordPress. DreamHost makes it really, really easy. Or just register endthecap.wordpress.com if you want to be really cheap. The weblog format would fit because it would let supporters and media know the latest news and progress of the campaign. Building online community for political purposes is about the only thing we should learn from Howard Dean, M.D.'s Presidential campaign.

I'd like to take the lead on this, but with covering CPAC this week I don't have the time. Someone really passionate about school choice would do well with this project. Or (since I'm thinking out loud) the Walker or Green campaigns could get behind this. I place this idea out on the table for someone to run with.
