No-Tax-Increase Referendum?

So let's have it. It seems taxes won't go up if the Unified school referendum passes, so why are so many of you Weblog commenters so opposed? Your taxes should stay the same, all other things being equal.

Maybe the problem is you just don't believe it. You're jaded. Claims of taxes staying the same just don't sound real.
Or maybe the point of this tax revolt is that taxes are already too darn high. For a change, you'd like to see taxes go down.
