Doyle, Legislature Want Seniors to Suffer From Common Cold

Governor Jim Doyle, with a slap in the face to poor minorities and seniors, plans to sign into law a bill that will force normal, law-abiding citizens to show a photo ID in order to buy cold medicine.

Funny, these vulnerable people were the same people he claimed to want to protect when he vetoed the Voter ID bill. Just last week he claimed that there are 10,000 elderly Wisconsinites who don't have a valid photo ID. What about the people who are too poor to afford a drivers' license? They may not be able to afford to go to a doctor's office, so Sudafed may be their only remedy. The Voter ID bill accomodates those without a Driver's License. Does this bill?

This heartless, cruel governor has no sensitivity whatsoever for the poor and elderly who have a cold. Doyle wants your grandma to suffer. If Grandpa's throat is so sore he can't swallow his cholesterol medication--too bad. Jim Doyle doesn't care--as long as they can make it to the polls to vote for him, he is content to let them suffer with their other ills. What a man. Thanks, Legislature.
