Weather Prediction
After this obnoxious Winter I fully expect Summer to come around and try to make up for it. I also expect some idiot, most likely one with an Oscar and a Nobel Peace Prize, to blame the first scorching day on global warming.

Government Funding at Its Finest
Did you set your clock back last night?
If you did, you must've forgotten that congress changed Daylight Saving Time. Don't feel bad, though. PBS might have forgot, too. My VCR gets its time from Channel 10 and it looks they've already turned back the clock.
It's also possible that my VCR tried to outsmart congress, by applying the old DST settings on its own. I've now disabled auto DST to see if it makes a difference.
If you're using an automatic clock, what do you see today?
Note: I couldn't think of an appropriate tag for this post, so I chose "cow farting."

State Fair Get Together
Saturday is the day. I plan to be at the microbrew tent at about noon.
We'd still like to have the BBQ, but we don't know how many people to expect. My plan is to go to the fair and find out who's coming, then we'll meet at our place later on. I think 4 or 5pm is a reasonable time.

State Fair Get Together
It's getting close! State Fair starts on Thursday.
Judging by the comments on my blog, the second weekend looks best for a BBA/Cheddarsphere get-together. I say we pick the 11th, because Saturdays are cool. Last year, we met in the microbrew tent at about noonish? Someone refresh my memory.
Ask me about parking. We can hook a few people up.
Don't forget to save energy the after party at our place (actual start time TBD)!
Note: I believe that I've just stolen the title of "Cheddarsphere Social Director" from Dave Casper in a bloodless coup.

Bessie is Tooting Too Much
It's stories like this that make me wish I could go into stand-up comedy.
Material like this is too good.
PeTA has also attacked cows -- in the name of environmentalism of course -- saying that less cows (since we'd all be vegetarians, thus fewer cows being kept for human consumption) will also heal the Earth.
One thing I've often wondered in this assault against cows for being, well, cows is what will become of the farmers (both dairy and livestock) in this cow-free world. Or have the environmental socialists not fully thought that out yet?

BARMY Euro MPs are demanding new laws to stop cows and sheep PARPING.The Urban Dictionary defines "parp" as the noise made when farting whilst tightly clenching buttocks.
Their call came after the UN said livestock emissions were a bigger threat to the planet than transport.
The MEPs have asked the European Commission to “look again at the livestock question in direct connection with global warming”.
The official EU declaration demands changes to animals’ diets, to capture gas emissions and recycle manure.
They warned: “The livestock sector presents the greatest threat to the planet.” The proposal will be looked at by the 27 member states.
The UN says livestock farming generates 18 per cent of greenhouse gases while transport accounts for 14 per cent.
