Friday Gun Porn: The STURMGEWEHR 44 assault rifle
Welcome to the first addition of the Socialist Free Gun Porn. This Weeks Centerfold the Sturmgewehr 44 the granddaddy of all Assault Rifles.
The StG-44 is one of the most important guns in the history of firearms due to the fact it created a whole new class of military firearms. It also started the idea of less is more in battle rifles as it actually used a smaller sized round than your standard battle rifles. Every assault rifles in use in the world today is an off spring of the Stg 44.
One can only shudder when you stop and think what the German Army would have been able to do if they had been able to start World War 2 fully armed with this gun.
There is a raging argument over is the AK-47 a copy of the StG-44 I for one believe the StG-44 influenced the AK but the AK is not a direct copy they are very different inside.
I have never been fortunate enough to shoot a StG-44 they are very rare and since they are full auto capable you need special permits to possess one(Which is a violation of the 2nd amendment no matter what the Supreme Court says)
I would rate this gun high on the Zombie Repellent List due to its high rate of fire coupled with enough power and accuracy to get the job of stopping a horde of zombies done. The only draw back in this gun is the ammunition is not very common it would hard to find ammo for it in a zombie infested world.
