The Eau Claire County Economic Development Corporation claims a bill making its way through Washington is keeping a company from bringing in hundreds of jobs and a $50 million investment into Eau Claire.

Because of a non-disclosure agreement, the EDC can not release the company's name. They do say they were looking to make a $50 million investment in Eau Claire and create 800 manufacturing jobs over the next five years. But, a piece of legislation known as the "Employee Free Choice Act" has changed those plans.

Whoever the company was, it seems that Eau Claire, because of some existing facilities, was the only place in the U.S. that the unnamed company was considering. And so it begins.
