Ken Blackwell wins Ohio GOP primary

Yesterday, Ken Blackwell won the Ohio GOP primary and became the second black Republican nominee for governor in this year's elections. The other is former NFL great Lynn Swann in Pennsylvania. As I've discussed before, this is great news for the Republican Party.

Both of these candidates have a shot at winning, Swann more than Blackwell. But both are steps in the right direction. As difficult as it is for many liberals to believe, Republican policies are better for poor minorities than Democratic ones. As Ken Mehlman and others continue to preach this, and the failure of liberal policies continues to play out day by day in our inner city slums, blacks will continue to move toward the GOP. Good news indeed.
