Fred Phelps To Use Tactics Cindy Sheehan Would Shun
This needs to be stopped. John Ruberry at Marathon Pundit sends a notice from Fred Phelps and crew about a protest they plan to stage at a Wisconsin funeral for two young men killed in battle in Iraq.
You know Fred, he's the guy with the "God hates fags" loving heart. These people are unfathomable in their hate and confusion of Biblical rhetoric - to call them Christian would be an abomination and a complete misunderstanding of Christianity.
I cannot find any news confirmation of the funeral dates, listed below, but I've sent an e-mail to Doug Zellmer, who reported on the deaths of Wendling and Wallace for the Oshkosh Northwestern. I will update soonest.
Please consider whether your plans and vicinity will allow you to be there to support the families if these dates are confirmed. If you are anywhere in the vicinity of Ripon, which is about 25 miles west of Fon du Lac, please try to be there. This is one of the greatest trials of their families' lives; what they face is nothing short of an outrage, and should be stopped.
According to the hate flyer, Michael Wendling and Andrew Wallace will be laid to rest tomorrow, Oct. 5; Wendling at 11am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Theresa, Wisc., and Wallace at 3pm at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon.
