Congratulations Owen!

Boots and Sabers, a member blog here at the BBA, was named the WisPolitics/WisOpinion's "Blog of the Month" for July.

Boots and Sabers is a nationally focused conservative blog with an extensive and often-updated section specific to Wisconsin politics, written primarily by Owen, one of two former college roommates from Texas that contribute to the blog.

The two contributors are Jed, a Tatum, Texas resident, former Air Force personnel officer and recent law school graduate, and Owen, originally from Texas who spent nine of his first 11 years living in Saudi Arabia before moving to Texas and eventually Milwaukee. Owen is also a contributor to the Badger Blog Alliance (http://badgerblogalliance.blogspot.com/), a home base of Wisconsin conservative bloggers.

The Wisconsin section of Boots and Sabers is maintained exclusively by Owen, who takes a relatively civil tone in his expressions regarding issues of concern in Milwaukee city and Wisconsin state government. Owen tells it as he sees it, in an easy-to-understand style, getting his point across with no bells or whistles.

"Home base?" This is a home base? I always thought it was sort of like a tavern where we don't get too rowdy with one another.

Though, the idea of potentially the world's first cyber bar brawl does appeal to me.
