Changes to Badger Blog Alliance format

In this post, I outlined a possible slight format change to the Badger Blog Alliance which would allow for more participation here from the Wisconsin blogosphere and also smooth out posting regularity. If you haven't read it, I encourage you to do so. There have been a few comments so far, but I need to see more. Basically, the thought has been tossed around about having the BBA be like National Review's The Corner. For those of you who are unfamiliar with The Corner, it is National Review's blog. I am warming to the idea of emulating it because I think the ten of us who have been posting members of the BBA have come to realize that it is difficult to have a job, a family, and post formal blog posts to two sites. The attractive thing about The Corner's style and format is that it can be either formal or informal, it allows for discussion between posters, and it is quite entertaining for readers. It also allows the BBA to be opened up to more Wisconsin bloggers. My thinking right now is that we would set up some general qualifications for Wisconsin bloggers to become posting members-don't worry the barriers to entry won't be high. They would be something along the lines of you have to be a blogger from Wisconsin, you have to have regularly blogged at your own site for X amount of time, and you have to post to the BBA at least once every X number of weeks. And you have to be of the "red state" persuasion, just so posters have something in common. Content wise, it would not have to be formal posts-see The Corner as an example. I'd like to see the flavor of the site stay Wisconsincentric, but posters would be free to post formally, informally, on local, state, or national topics. Posters could converse with each other through posts, and topics can range from the silly to the serious.

Again, this is an idea I'm toying with to make this site better. I'm not married to the idea yet. I need to see comments or emails on the idea from all of you, current posting members, members of the Wisconsin blogroll, and non-blogging readers.
