Ed Garvey is very, very disappointed
Governor Jim Doyle seems to be losing ol' Ed:
President Obama, on the other hand, did have Ed. But:
...why would a Democratic governor cut school aid, lay off state workers, cut aid to local government, and threaten to cut more jobs unless the unionized state employees agree to reduce their pay "or else"? (No bargaining? Bad faith? You betcha. Is that how Democrats negotiate in good faith with the union? "My way or the highway?" Heck, Tommy treated state employees better than that.)Not that Governor Doyle ever really had Ed.
I don't get it. Isn't it time Jim Doyle opted to lead? Leadership in these tough times would require him to step on lots of Gucci slippers worn by the big campaign contributers.
President Obama, on the other hand, did have Ed. But:
When W. spoke about "preventive detention" or repeal of habeas corpus, we all knew in head and gut he had no idea what he was talking about. Ignorance cloaked in gibberish.Obama equals Dubya? Ouch. Time to call for impeachment!
Poor Barack. He knows what he is saying when he talks about holding people without a trial forever(?). He taught constitutional law.
Yesterday, Obama talked about "preventive detention" and "prolonged detention" for people in our custody. My conclusion? Cheney's baiting worked. By going head-to-head with the nutty veep, O sounded more like W and Cheney than candidate Obama.
