More Tax Increases

Grab your wallets, here they come again.

• In the Elmbrook School District, where they want a $100 million spending referendum to build, among other things, two fieldhouses with six basketball courts apiece.
• In Mukwonago, where they want to borrow $15 million to pay for routine maintenance items for which money had been allocated in previous budgets but the repairs not made.
• In Racine, where the County Board wants a referendum asking voter approval on a 0.5 percent sales tax to fund parks, the Racine Zoo and the Heritage Museum under the oldest shell game around: the County Board says it will take those items off the county budget and provide property tax relief.
