Specter Caves
Embarrassing.
Sen. Arlen "Magic Bullet" Spector (RINO-Pa.) caved to the demands of delirious Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee and is allowing a re-hearing for Brett Kavanaugh, President Bush's nominee.
Apparently, folks like Ted "The Swimmer" Kennedy, Chucky Schumer and our own Russ Feingold didn't get enough time to posture and bluster and bloviate. Oh, and Bush-bash as well.
What Specter may have allowed the Democrats to do is substitute the concept of "re-hearing" for "filibuster."
The so-called Gang of Fourteen pledged not to support a filibuster if the Democrats were allowed to re-question Kavanaugh. What is pathetic is this "Gang of Fourteen" is allowed to run the Senate.
Now that the Democrats on the Judiciary have been allowed to pull this stunt and get away with it, expect it to be tried again. An endless series of "re-hearings" designed to prevent an up-or-down vote.
Someone remind me why President Bush campaigned to keep Spector in office over a real Republican in Pat Toomey.
