Governor Doyle continues his attack on the Free Enterprise system
I just saw this in the MJS daywatch section.
"Wisconsin and Michigan will join together in calling for a cap on oil company profits, Gov. Jim Doyle's office said this morning.
Doyle will appear at a Brookfield gas station at 10 a.m. today to unveil details of the plan to limit how much oil companies can make. The move comes days after Exxon Mobil, the world's largest publicly-trade oil company, announced that it had earned more than $8 billion since the start of the year."
I believe we have already shown that there isn't any gouging going on. These high prices are the result of MARKET FORCES.
Anyone want to bet he wont talk about the 50cents of taxes the state and feds take. You know he will not lower that tax.
I cant wait to see how the almighty and all powerful Diamond Jim Doyle is going to tell a multinational oil company it must stop making money. This should be good. Just once I would like to see one of these companies tell a Politico like Doyle "screw you", ok we will just stop selling gas in your state. Just think of what that would do to the price of gas. These companies need to start telling Career Politicos like Doyle who have never produced one useful thing in his life to pack sand.
Jim Doyle is doing what he does best Grandstanding since he has done nothing in his 3 years except veto bills. He has to pull stunts like this to make it look like he is actually doing something. The real question is which of his puppet masters are pulling his strings on this issue.
So Please one of you MSM types who will be at this gas station today please do you job ask him what he is going to do about the states high gas tax and the minimum markup law. Come on I dare you ask him. I wont hold my breath.
