A positive Thought
I was thinking this Am over my Coffee(Highlander Grog mmmm good stuff) Something that no one has mentioned is the how kick ass the performance of the Helo pilots and crews in the Gulf has been. I am not talking about the rescues we all know they are doing great work in that aspect.
I am talking just the straight up flying part all those helos and aircraft and not one accident. How many birds are flying in and around New Orleans alone and they are doing this safely and professionally. You lefties remember that next time your trying to smear our Military people like you are known to do.
Special thanks to the Ground pounders and wrench turners too without them those birds don't stay up in the air. My guess is a large number of pretty young kids are working long long hours to make sure none of those aircraft go down. I am sure there are a couple of Grumpy old Chiefs or Gunnys standing behind them making sure the mission gets done.
Sometimes you have to marvel what the true "Cream" of our country can do when the shat hits the fan.
Update: Another example of this was a sight I saw on FoxNews this morning there was an US Navy chopper plucking people off of roofs. So you ask why is that different than what we are seeing already. This was a VIP chopper like the one the President uses. It even had the shiny green paint job not that sick NATO grey the navy went to back in the late 80's. Unlike a regular fleet squadron which practices doing Search and Rescue all the time. These guys are doing a mission they rarely pressed into and looked to be doing it well.
And lets not forget the US Navy and Coast Guard personnel who have been sweeping the gulf in P-3's and C130 looking for lost souls out on water. As the Who once said "The Kids are alright"
