UW Facts
This may be just a tad unseemly, but I've got to point out these two posts on Rep. Frank Lasee's blog.
From yesterday:
And today:
From yesterday:
For the last ten years, UW funding has grown an average of 5.5% per year (including a 5% increase in 2003 and a 5.8% increase in 2004). The student body has grown by less than 1% per year.
The UW System has over 28,000 employees. Only 23% of them are faculty – fewer than one in four. Even our public K-12 schools do better than that: over half of K-12 employees are teachers.
And today:
In the 2003-04 academic year, the UW System had 28,582 employees, and 160,703 students.
That's one employee for every 5.6 students.
