I got mine!

And the best thing about this Sports Illustrated - they can't jinx us by putting him on the cover anymore!

Can you stand a little more Favre?

I knew you could.

Just found these pictures at JS Online (click on them for larger versions).

Favre on draft day, 1991:

You wonder who the other people in the picture are, and what they were thinking then, and what they're thinking now. Mostly, though, you wonder what the guy in the yellow shirt is looking at.

This one's from 1992, his first season with the Packers:

Somebody's kid got lost on the tour.

This one's from yesterday:

Natrually, I can't help but wonder: Have I aged that much?

Oh, one more, just because:

More Favre

From Bob McGinn's column on Tuesday (I missed it):

January 1998. At Candlestick Park. On fourth and 1, Favre tries long and hard with his cadence to get San Francisco's front four to jump offsides. With the jig up and a few seconds left on the play clock, he bends down and chats with the 49ers' Dana Stubblefield as if to say, "Won't you please jump offsides?"

Re: Re: Favre to retire?

Aaron,

I do you one better, I blame President George W Bush for Brett retiring!

Re: Favre to retire?

I blame Scott Walker.

Brett Favre should've made this announcement on the day before the Wisconsin primaries. That would've been awesome!

Re: Favre to retire?

WTMJ is reporting it, too.

Lots of stuff on that page. They've been holding onto that for a while.

Remember the game against Cincinatti, when Favre took over for Majkowski? My daughter - a sophomore in high school now - was 143 days old. Her whole life, the Packers have played exactly two three games in which Favre was not the starter.

Re: Favre to retire?

ESPN confirms:
Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre has decided to retire.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported that according to Favre's agent, Buss Cook, Favre informed Packers coach Mike McCarthy of his decision Monday night.
The story indicates they heard Brett was talking with Randy Moss and was willing to commit to multiple years provided Randy Moss come, but no dice on that.

Thanks for the 17 years Brett!
