Have we learned yet?

I've been wondering whether all the recent financial unpleasantness - the G.I.Normous (and seemingly neverending) bailouts, the Dow Jones dropping like a rock - has taught us anything yet.

Well, I saw these while on a lit drop in Appleton yesterday:
