Boss Garvey will not be pleased.
U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Middleton said he'd be pleased with whoever wins the democratic presidential nomination.According to this, Feingold plans to cast his Superdelegate vote for Obama because Obama won here in Wisconsin. Feingold hasn't endorsed either candidate, even though the Ed Garvey "progressives" claim him (Feingold) as one of their own, and they're all in for Obama.
"I'm going to be happy either way, I just want to get it resolved," he said to a group of 20 people at a Saturday morning listening session in De Pere.
Of course, Feingold is well-entrenched in his seat, and can afford to play a little politics with the Presidential field. The "progressive" Leftroots wouldn't abandon him just for this.
It does make one wonder, though: why hasn't Feingold endorsed Obama, when the rest of Progressive Nation is aquiver with goosebumps at the mere mention of his name?
Is Feingold hedging his bets in anticipation of a Vice Presidential shot?
It also makes one wonder: if Feingold is hedging because he knows his fellow progressives will let him, what does Governor Doyle's early endorsement of Obama mean? Although, like Obama's other big-name supporters, Doyle's been conspicuously absent of late.
