Watch for falling cows

Sometimes there are stories that aren't funny, but you can't help but laugh at the absurdity of them. This is one of those stories.

A 50-year-old woman was injured when the car she was driving was rear-ended as she tried to avoid hitting a cow in the heart of America’s Dairyland, police said.

Vicki Pfahning of Stratford was headed to work Tuesday morning when a cow apparently fell out of a trailer Tuesday morning on Interstate 39/U.S. 51 in this small community south of Wausau, Kronenwetter Police Chief Dan Joling said.

The cow appeared dazed but was not seriously injured by the fall from the trailer, the police chief said.
