Letter to the Editor
A local businesswoman - a very friendly, intelligent Baraboo business owner who has been a vocal opponent of the war - wrote this letter to our local paper (not online):
Is it just me, or has she done more damage to her own cause than I ever could by rebutting?
There once was a President named Bush,That's exactly what it says, right down to the last comma and capital letter.
Who took us to war in a rush.
Because of his lies,
Two thousand G.I.s have died,
So that oil can continue to gush.
It's clear the invasion has failed,
And all hope of victory derailed.
Enough is enough,
Let's be through with this stuff.
It will be no mistake to have bailed.
Iraq is now in civil war,
TV news reports all the gore.
We can't win in such strife,
With its great loss of life,
So, let's tell Donald Rumsfield "no more!"
On April 4th a vote you can cast,
A referendum we hope will be passed,
To bring our troops home,
No more deserts to roam,
Let this stupid blunder be our last!
Is it just me, or has she done more damage to her own cause than I ever could by rebutting?
