Happy Fourth
Thought these little tidbits were interesting (was going to include them in today's column, but they didn't make the final cut):
Our Tax Freedom Day is on April 26 – we spent well over a third of the year paying for our government. But in Canada, they spent nearly half the year. Their TFD was on June 19. Great Britain's was slightly better than that: June 3.
I know, somebody will use that to tell us our taxes aren't all that high. Blah blah blah. Just one more reason to thank the Founding Fathers, if you ask me.
