Re: Get out and shop day
In the comments to Fred's post, the ever-amusing JJ aims for the bottom line:
It's not insignificant that JJ brings his own sound effects and canned applause with him when he stops over at the BBA (See the rest of his comment. Zing!). And he's welcome for the vocabulary lesson I seem to have given him with my comment, even if he grossly misuses it.
It's anything but xenophobic to protest certain groups trying to hold sway over the political system from top to bottom. It's our sovereign and democratic right, with a heavy dash of free speech and free markets thrown in.
That leaves "(3) impractical, and (4) wrong." If you think it's impractical to ammend your shopping to a certain day, you've got other problems, the least of which isn't your solidarity with the illegal immigrants. Fred is only wrong if you can prove that breaking the law, regardless of any compounding detriments or benefits doing so creates, is right. And it would have to apply to any law at any time for any reason.
Perhaps JJ's next vocabulary lesson should include two more words: chaos, and order.
Your position is (1) apparently based on xenophobia, (2) not consistent with other "conservative views" such as pro-free trade, (3) impractical, and (4) wrong.
