BBA Participation guidelines
Okay, there has been a minimum of feedback on this, so I'm going to offer up thoughts. Ideally, I'd rather deal with this in another forum, but this will have to do.
The Badger Blog Alliance is what each and everyone of you choose to make of it-that goes for participating bloggers and readers alike. As administrator, I'm trying to keep "regulation" to a minimum because I think that leads to the most interesting posts. I also know that everyone has their home blog, so drawing up draconian guidelines will take the fun of the Badger Blog Alliance away from most posters. Each and every participant has to find their own voice here in their own way. If that means having discussions on state or national topics with other participants, that's fine. If it means posting standard blog posts or even cross posting to your own site on Wisconsin topics, that's also fine. It is also okay to have a little fun here with posts from time to time. All I ask is that everyone participate regularly. That's the only way the the Badger Blog Alliance can be a robust entry point for people who want to read Wisconsin blogs.
As for the comments, I encourage everyone to take advantage of the comments. Readers, they are a place where you can enter the conversation. Wisconsin bloggers who may like to participate here, they are a place to get noticed and show that you're voice would be a good addition. BBA members, they are an alternate place to the general blog for debate.
When you are trying to balance 2 or 3 blogs, it can be challenging. You can take a look at Jiblog for proof of that. I, like everyone else, have a finite amount of time and energy for blogging. Sometimes Jiblog suffers when I end up spending a lot of time working on the BBA. But as administrator of this little venture, that's the sacrifice I make. For the rest of you, there should be a balance you can find. Perhaps your in depth posts occur at your home blog, and you have shorter posts here that refer back to your more in depth posts. Perhaps you just look at state issues here, and local and national at your home blog. These are just a couple of examples-there is a nice balance for everyone, and I'm not going to mandate anything for anyone.
Just keep the nudity out of the BBA. :-)
